This position will start at $17.88 and it does require a CDL B License or
to be able to attain within 6 months with City assistance - no extensions.
General Statement of Duties: Performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks at the apprentice level in all phases of public works construction, maintenance and operations as assigned; does related work as required.
Essential Functions:
Prepare for each shift and task.
Ensure safety at each site.
Repairs and maintenance.
Cleanup at end of shift.

Checks tires, oil, lubricant and water levels, lights, and fuel in trucks or equipment.
Operates city vehicles, snowplows, sanders, rollers, lay-down machine and similar equipment in various assignments.
Crack seals and patches (repair and seals) streets and gravels.
Trims, cuts and removes trees.
Washes, lubricates, adjusts and performs minor repair and maintenance on equipment operated.
Performs work in pest control.
Cleans alleys.
Clean Catch Basins
Paints sidewalks, parking stalls, curb and sidewalk markings and traffic lane markers.
Installs and replaces traffic signs.
Sets barricades and temporary traffic directions.
Mows grass and weeds.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job requires assisting any and all departments when needed.

Must possess or able to possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver License “B” within 6 months of hire.
May have to performs weekend duty on a rotating basis.
Ability to deal with the general public and fellow workers in a cordial and professional manner.
Ability to perform in adverse weather.
Ability to use and learn the proper use of power equipment.
Ability to follow complex oral and written directions.
Ability to maintain basic records on work activities, work schedule.
Ability to work at moderate to extreme heights in trees and with aerial equipment.
The employee shall work well under pressure, meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.
The employee shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
The employee must live within 30 minutes of the City of Brush for this position for emergencies.

Two years of experience as a laborer with some experience in driving dump or similar trucks and medium equipment in maintenance, construction or similar work.
