Full Job Description

Associate's degree in Safety related field or Safety related experience required

Summary:

Plan and implement SSi Design/Build Constructors’ safety program to ensure a safe and accident-free environment. Also work with the project team to ensure that the best possible outcome is achieved with the following expectations:

Safety goals are achieved on every project.

No accidents or near misses.

No OSHA citations.

Employees have a positive attitude toward safe work practices.

Employees are well-educated in safe practices and have the resources necessary to work safely.

Observe and practice all governmental safety regulations, project requirements and Company safety policies.

Analyze and recommend corrective action for any accident.

Primary Duties:

Understand, administer, and enforce OSHA and other federal, state and local standards in regard to safety, as well as Company safety policies for the purpose of establishing a safe work environment on all projects.

Conduct New Hire safety orientations and assist in completing New Hire paperwork and testing.

Participate in project pre-planning meetings to ensure that safety is part of all work plans.

Ensure that superintendents address safety hazards prior to starting work activities by reviewing safety plans or the Job Safety Analysis (JSA).

Conduct training for employees on a variety of safety topics utilizing the Company’s and/or the project site’s training materials.

Investigate of all accidents including vehicle, equipment and personal injury involving SSi employees.

Order post-accident drug testing, acquire results, post in personnel file as confidential information.

Complete accident reports and report to management and Worker’s Compensation insurance company, then follow up until employee is released and claim, if any, is closed.

Communicate regularly with Worker’s Compensation insurance company’s safety advisor.

Scan into the job files JSA’s performed, recorded and turned in weekly by project superintendent.

Set up and supervise Job Site Safety Orientation (JSSO) for all SSi employees and SSi subcontractor’s employees before they may perform work on the project site.

Inventory and issue safety equipment to personnel.

Conduct CPR classes from time to time so all employees have an opportunity to maintain current CPR training.

Conduct 10-hour OSHA safety training classes for SSi employees.

Documentation

Prepare, submit, maintain, file and record all essential SSi Design/Build Constructors’ safety paperwork.

Obtain and manage SDS for all materials and chemicals for the Company.

Maintain and submit first aid logs.

Certifications

30-hour OSHA

Scaffolding Safety w Powered Industrial Truck

First Aid/CPR

Confined Spaces

Fall Protection

Trenching and Excavation

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
