Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CMM Technician to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing precise dimensional inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other precision measuring instruments to ensure products meet strict quality standards. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of our quality control processes, supporting manufacturing excellence, and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with CAD software like SolidWorks, and experience with calibration and tooling inspection.

Duties

Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), including PC-DMIS software, to perform detailed dimensional inspections of complex parts and assemblies.
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, utilizing GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to verify conformance.
Conduct routine calibration and maintenance of CMM equipment and precision measuring tools such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
Perform quality inspections on machined components, ensuring compliance with ASME codes & standards and customer specifications.
Document inspection results accurately in quality management systems aligned with AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 standards.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot dimensional discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
Review schematics and CAD models created in SolidWorks or similar software to understand design intent and measurement requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process enhancements in measurement techniques.
Assist in training new technicians on proper inspection procedures and equipment operation.
Maintain detailed records of inspections, calibrations, and non-conformance reports for audit purposes.

Experience

Proven experience as a CMM Technician or in a similar quality inspection role within manufacturing or machining environments.
Proficiency with CMM programming software such as PC-DMIS; experience with Calypso is a plus.
Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and dimensional inspection techniques.
Familiarity with quality management systems compliant with AS9100, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 standards.
Knowledge of tooling inspection including bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and mechanical gauges.
Experience working with CAD software like SolidWorks for interpreting design data.
Mechanical aptitude combined with knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining and tooling setup.
Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and schematics accurately while applying mathematical skills for measurement calculations.
Awareness of industry standards including ASME codes & standards relevant to precision measurement.
