Duties vary and include managing assessments, designing and teaching curriculum, working one-on-one and in groups, supervising students, assisting students with classwork, supporting inclusive special education programs, leading enrichment activities and being part of a vibrant, diverse group of devoted educators.

Academic Interventionist/Testing Coordinator/Roving Sub
The Academic Interventionist is responsible for supporting student achievement with special attention to Tier II and III instruction. The Interventionist provides individual or small group instruction to students who are struggling academically. This position is also responsible for monitoring, reporting, communicating student progress and performance, and collaborating with general education and special education staff.
Position Purpose:
- The Academic Interventionist's primary purpose is to assist in improving academic achievement of all students in grades TK-8.
- Work directly with teacher(s) to assist students in reinforcing reading and mathematics skills.
- Interventionist will also plan, implement, and assess intervention services to ensure fidelity; increase teachers' capacity to effectively implement identified core or universal instructional practices for individual and small groups of students.
- Interventionists will work alongside classroom teachers in planning and implementing English/ELA and math intervention initiatives through various intervention programs, and in collaboration with our Educational Specialist.
Qualifications Profile:Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution (an Associate's Degree in Education from an accredited institution or proof of significant coursework related to Education may be considered with teaching experience) and a California Substitute Teaching License.
- Applicants must show evidence of coursework in Mathematics, Computer, English/ELA, Reading, Science and/or Bilingual.
- Applicants must demonstrate efficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite and other technology software programs such as Google Apps for Education (GAFE).
- Minimum three (3) years of actual work experience working directly with students.
- Experience using computer applications/information technology and data to assist and/or facilitate instruction with students.
- Understanding of and commitment to implementing academic intervention best practices for students in grades TK-8.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to apply instructional strategies on differentiation
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong understanding of elementary math teaching
- Knowledge of collaboration practices and team teaching practices
- Ability to collect data and make course placement recommendation for students
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with school administrator, staff, students, and families
Position Job Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Principal and Education Specialist, the Academic Interventionist will:
● Provides high quality instruction to individual students and small groups during the school day and at After School Program.
● Uses data to provide instruction to students and to bring their skills to grade-level
● Collaborates with teachers, administration, and families to help identify best practices for individual and small groups of students
● Collaborates with teachers and other instructional staff to support teachers’ to implement best classroom instructional practices.
● Uses identified research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student needs
● Maintains data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress
● Provides data to school teams and participates in decisions about student progress
● Communicates with teachers, administration, and families regarding student progress
● Assists with identifying students for placement in intervention groups
● Participates in meetings with teachers, administration, and families to discuss student placement and
progress
● Provides diagnostic assessments for students as needed
● Provides input for program development
● Supports implementation of assessment tools and data management systems
● Attends the appropriate trainings to improve knowledge and skills
● Provides staff development opportunities
● Performs other related duties as assigned

Pay: $40,097.00 - $72,146.00 per year
