REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalency
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
Demonstrated success in staff recruitment, retention, and/or community partnerships
Work history in one or more areas of classified employment (preferred but not required)
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The overall goal of this position is to further cultivate, expand, and maintain a stable and broadscale workforce
pipeline for attracting and maintaining highly-skilled employees for classified positions, with an emphasis on
transportation (bus drivers), through traditional and innovative recruitment efforts, ongoing support and
retention efforts, strategic community and business partnerships, and collaborative efforts with post-secondary,
community, and career training organizations.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES & EVALUATION CRITERIA
Develop and implement targeted strategies to recruit a cross-section of potential employees, with an emphasis
on retirees, veterans, second-career seekers, and other individuals potentially interested in classified positions
Increase awareness of the employment opportunities and fringe benefit programs associated with classified
employment through coordinated planning and effective use of a variety of media and networking strategies
Establish and expand impactful partnerships with higher education, workforce development, local government,
community, business, civic, and faith-based organizations (as well as other entities) to promote classified
employment opportunities and to recruit potential employees
Develop, implement, monitor, and communicate the results of a long-range strategic plan to improve recruitment
and retention of classified staff, with an emphasis on bus driver positions
Share periodic data on results of recruitment and retention efforts with district leadership, with an emphasis on
modifications and refinements to further optimize results
Provide and/or coordinate ongoing retention efforts, including mentoring, training and re-training, ongoing
support, and new-hire engagement efforts
Analyze current employment data, exit interview data, and other relevant data sources to identify trends and
factors limiting employee retention and make suggestions to departmental and/or district leadership based on
those findings
Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Maintain highest degree of professionalism as an employee of and ambassador for the school system
Perform other duties consisted with the position as assigned by the direct supervisor/designee
