Job Summary: The Quality Lab Technician is a critical role in our organization, responsible for ensuring the integrity and safety of our products. This role involves conducting testing and analysis to uphold our commitment to delivering high-quality products to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, and a dedication to maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare test equipment for testing. Calibrate instruments and gauges (when specified)
2. Work from established procedures, written and/or verbal instructions
3. Work with various test equipment and use of work station computer
4. Complete testing as required by product specifications and procedures
5. Understand test procedures to properly set up equipment for testing
6. Record test data on lab sheets, review and enter test data, and report to supervisor if needed
7. Maintain required records and reports
8. Review run charts while entering data to ensure processes are in control and take appropriate action when needed
9. Package retain samples (if required)
10. Complete periodic and additional assigned testing such as vendor items, customer complaint products, dock audits, and R&D trial samples
11. Collect product samples from manufacturing equipment
12. Perform product checks on QA release products
13. Detect and report unusual conditions to proper supervisors
14. Follow prescribed safety, GMP and company rules and regulations
15. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
16. Drive QA cart as needed to retrieve samples

Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Previous manufacturing experience preferred
3. Must have excellent attendance
4. Maintain a safe work environment
5. Must be able to work overtime as required
6. Must be able to perform all duties in a safe and effective manner
7. Ability to read and write.
8. Must have basic math skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF JOB:
- Must be able to calibrate instruments and gauges to prepare equipment for testing
- Must be able to respond to sample calls from various areas of plant
- Must be able to retrieve samples from calendar and place on cart to bring back to laboratory
- Must be able to remove samples off cart and hang on racks in laboratory for testing
- Must be able to cut sample strips for testing
- Must be able to utilize computer to test sample strips
- Must be able to test sample strips for color quality and flammability
- Must be able to move boxes of product out of lab area on carts to finished good and retaining areas
- Must be able to maintain records and reports
- Must be able to perform cleaning duties
- Must be licensed and able to drive the QA sample cart to retrieve samples
Standing: (Constant) QA Technician must be able to stand to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as preparing equipment for testing, responding to sample calls, placing samples on cart, hanging samples in laboratory, testing sample strips, moving boxes of product to retaining area, and performing cleaning duties.

Sitting: (Occasional) QA Technician must be able to sit to perform various duties associated with essential job functions such as driving golf cart to retrieve samples from calendar area and maintaining records and reports.
Lifting: (Occasional) QA Technician must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist level of 36 inches to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as placing boxes of product on carts.
Carrying: (Occasional) QA Technician must be able to complete front or side carries of various parts weighing up to 50 pounds for distances up to 25 feet.
Pushing/Pulling: (Occasional) QA Technician must be able to generate push force and pull force of equal to or less than 50 pounds to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as pushing carts to finished goods and retaining areas and performing cleaning duties.
Forward Bending: (Occasional) QA Technician must be able to attain/maintain a forward flexed position of up to 60 degrees to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as loading/unloading boxes of product and performing cleaning duties.
Trunk Rotation: (Occasional) QA Technician must be able to rotate their trunk/torso left-right in a seated and standing position to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as operating golf cart, testing product, loading/unloading boxes of product and performing cleaning duties.
Reaching: (Frequent) QA Technician must be able to forward reach to a shoulder level of up to 63 inches to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as preparing equipment for testing, retrieving samples, placing/removing samples from golf cart, hanging samples in laboratory, cutting sample strips, testing sample strips, and performing cleaning duties.
Manipulating/Handling/Gripping: (Frequent) QA Technician must be able complete gripping, pinching and manipulation of various pieces of equipment to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as preparing equipment for testing, retrieving samples, placing/removing samples from golf cart, hanging samples in laboratory, cutting sample strips, testing sample strips, and performing cleaning duties. A grip force equal to or less than 50 pounds is necessary for the completion of tasks.
Climbing: (Occasional) QA Technician must be able to ascend/descend steps and /or equipment varying from 7 – 12 inches in step heights to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as accessing different areas of the plant.
