Full Job Description

Now Hiring: Banquet Captain – Event Leadership Role

Location: The Mirage Banquet, Clinton Township, MI

The Mirage Banquet is seeking a professional, organized, and service-focused Banquet Captain to lead our front-of-house team during weddings, parties, and special events. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering seamless event experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and direct banquet servers and house staff throughout events
Schedule event staff based on event size, timing, and service needs
Ensure all event setups (tables, chairs, linens, glassware, etc.) are completed properly and on time
Act as the main point of contact for clients during events, addressing requests or concerns professionally
Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service flow
Oversee proper event closing procedures, including breakdown, cleanup, locking up, and ensuring all items are accounted for
Monitor food and beverage timing, guest satisfaction, and staff performance
Troubleshoot any issues or last-minute changes with poise and urgency

Requirements:

Prior banquet or restaurant leadership experience preferred
Strong communication, scheduling, and multitasking abilities
Professional demeanor and ability to manage a team under pressure
Must be available evenings, weekends, and holidays
Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs if needed
