FAWN LAKE COUNTRY CLUBGOLF PRO SHOP ATTENDANT Department: Golf
Employment Status: Part-Time
Pay Type: Hourly
Starting Pay Range: $13.00–$15.00 per hour, based on experience
Reports To: Head Golf Professional
Work Location: Fawn Lake Country Club – Spotsylvania, Virginia

POSITION SUMMARY

Fawn Lake Country Club is seeking a professional, dependable, and service-oriented
Golf Pro Shop Attendant to support daily Golf Department operations and deliver an exceptional member and guest experience. This role serves as a key point of contact for members and guests and assists with tee times, golfer check-in, merchandise sales, golf cart operations, and tournament support in a fast-paced private club environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Member & Guest Service

Greet members and guests in a professional and welcoming manner.
Assist with tee times, golfer registration, course information, and general inquiries.
Answer phone calls and provide accurate golf-related information.
Address basic member concerns and escalate issues to Golf Department leadership when needed.

Golf Operations

Schedule, modify, and manage tee times using the Club system.
Monitor daily tee sheet activity and communicate course updates (conditions, delays, policies).
Assist with tournaments, outings, leagues, and special events.
Support enforcement of Club policies including dress code, pace of play, and golf etiquette.

Point-of-Sale & Cash Handling

Process green fees, cart fees, and merchandise sales accurately.
Operate the POS system and handle cash, credit, and member charges.
Maintain accurate transaction records and follow all cash-handling procedures.

Golf Shop & Retail Support

Maintain a clean, organized, and professional Golf Pro Shop.
Assist with merchandise sales, stocking, displays, and inventory support.
Help receive, tag, and organize retail products.

Golf Cart & Facility Support

Stage, clean, and organize golf carts as needed.
Report cart or equipment issues promptly.
Assist with cart barn and surrounding golf operational areas.
Support outside service staff and general golf operations as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong customer service and communication skills.
Professional demeanor and ability to interact with members and guests.
Basic computer and POS system skills (or ability to learn quickly).
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy with transactions.
Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in golf, hospitality, retail, or customer service.
Basic knowledge of golf terminology, rules, and etiquette.
Prior POS or cash-handling experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Frequent bending, reaching, and movement of golf bags, carts, and merchandise.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY

This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling based on operational needs, including:

Early mornings, days, evenings
Weekends and holidays
Tournaments and special events

Dependability and availability during peak golf periods are essential.
