Job Description for Full-Time Liquor Salesperson for Virginia

Must have Outside Sales experience and working Knowledge of Liquor.

Liberty & Plenty Distillery, based in Durham, NC and Wilson, NC , is looking for enthusiastic, full-time outside Liquor Sales Representative to join the Liberty & Plenty team.

Are you passionate and knowledgable about spirits, detail oriented, decidedly a people person, love to close the deal and have outside alcohol sales experience? You might be a fit in our growing distillery!

This Outside Sales Position is Base Salary, plus commission, bonuses and car allowance.

This territory assignment covers the state of Virginia and is best suited for candidates living in the central Virginia near Richmond, Fredericksburg, Charlottesville, Lynchburg or Culpeper, Virginia.

This Liquor Sales Rep, calls on VA-ABC stores, restaurants, bars, event venues, caterers and other liquor outlets in those areas. Must have working knowledge of spirit standards of identify & differences, spirits use in cocktails, be knowledgable about ABC System, mixed beverage outlets, restaurants/bars and merchandising and know how to present spirits to accounts and close the sale!

You will also need your own transportation, computer and mobile phone.

Responsibilities:

- Identify new customers through market research/networking, service exisiting accounts and developing new accounts for on and off premise accounts.

- Develop ongoing relationships for sales through prospecting, drop-in sales calls, scheduling meetings, product presentations and servicing mixed beverage retailers, event venues, bars, restaurants, and VA ABC stores throughout Virginia.

- Create recurring ordering of products from retailer to their ABC MXB source.

- Collaborate with the Distillery team to develop effective sales strategies, monthly route planning, brand alignment and weekly reporting of sales calls and creating sales reports.

- Meet or exceed sales targets on a regular basis

- Provide excellent customer service and address any customer inquiries or concerns

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitors' products

- Analyze sales data and identify areas for improvement.

-Complete weekly reporting, sales reports, planning reports, mileage reporting and attend weekly meetings.

- Provide support at festivals and events within the geographic area and pour at VA ABC stores.

Qualifications:

Experience working in wine, beer or spirits sales with working knowledge of spirits, spirits categories and use of spirits in cocktails. Flexible, agile/adaptable to customer needs, outgoing and sales detail oriented personality.

Must be 21 years of age, own an operable computer, mobile phone and reliable automotive transportation.

Must have strong skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and Asana, mobile phone and reliable automotive transportation.

Must be able to qualify for a Solicitor Salesman—Distilled Spirits from VA ABC and pass a background check.

Outgoing, friendly, service oriented personality with strong verbal, written communication skills, and able to work 40-45 hours per week developing, servicing accounts and merchandising on-premise and off-premise accounts.

Ability to create a monthly schedule, prepare for and execute sales calls, appointments, deliver aligned brand information on our L&P Spirits, offer brand support for spirits placement and supply weekly written documentation of sales calls/reports and other sales information.

Compensation based annual pay paid 2x per month, incentives for bar & restaurant placements, store end caps, plus commission on sales, and additional incentives within assigned territory. Set mileage allowance is provided.
