The Surgical Coordinator will oversee every aspect of the patient's surgical experience, from initial scheduling and insurance authorization through post-operative care coordination. Key Responsibilities

Coordinate all aspects of the surgical process, including scheduling surgeries, pre-operative testing, clearances, and post-operative follow-up appointments.
Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providing guidance on surgery preparation, testing requirements, scheduling, insurance, and financial responsibilities.
Obtain insurance authorizations, verify patient eligibility, and ensure all required documentation is completed and submitted accurately.
Communicate effectively with physicians, hospitals, surgery centers, patients, and ancillary providers to ensure seamless coordination of care.
Prepare surgical charts, consent forms, and physician documentation while maintaining accurate records within the electronic medical record system.
Manage a high-volume workload with exceptional attention to detail, strong follow-through, and the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities.
Proactively address scheduling changes, cancellations, and workflow challenges while ensuring continuity of patient care.
Collaborate with other departments to support efficient practice operations and an exceptional patient experience.

Required Experience

Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a physician practice, hospital, surgical scheduling department, or other healthcare setting.
Previous experience coordinating surgeries or managing complex patient scheduling preferred.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, surgical procedures, and insurance authorization processes.
Experience working within an electronic medical record system; ModMed experience preferred.
