Full Job Description

Berliner Cohen LLP, a mid-sized law firm in downtown San Jose, has an immediate opening for a Calendar Clerk.

Requirements include: a minimum of three (3) years of administrative experience.Must havea professional appearance and demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Candidates should have top-notch organization skills, , proficiency with Microsoft Word applications, word processing, cloud-based databases, spreadsheets, time management, analytical skills, and the ability to prioritize.

Preferred Experience: Someone with experience working in a law firm as a calendar clerk (docketing) or litigation secretary. Familiarity with California Superior Court and District Court Dockets rules/procedures. Plus, experience with CompuLaw or Milana.

Core Competencies: teamwork, planning, organization, adaptability, problem solving, and initiative.

This is a full-time position in the office, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (in-office).

Calendar Clerk Duties

Ability to review and read pleadings (court documents) and discovery to capture deadlines.
Researching legal definitions and codes
Entering and calculating deadline dates (attention to detail)
Other duties assigned related to the position

The range listed is for someone with the required experience listed in the ad.
