Job Description: Legal Billing Specialist

Erickson & Sederstrom, P.C., L.L.O., a well-established Omaha law firm, seeks an experienced, resourceful, tactful, and dedicated Legal Billing Specialist. This person will work with attorneys and staff at our firm, and interact directly with clients, vendors, and billing services to assist in billing and collecting accounts receivable for the firm. This role will report directly to the Accounting Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs daily billing activities to support partners, attorneys, and clients.
Generate proformas, edit invoices, upload electronic invoices, and complete related follow-up to support timely payments and adjustments. Update matter and timekeeper rates, run client reports as requested by firm management and attorneys, and follow up with attorneys on invoicing.
Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and acceptance of invoices monthly or quarterly per client requirements.
Follow up with attorneys, clients, and billing services to resolve client billing issues and ensure invoices are approved and billed.
Process electronic invoices accurately and efficiently; promptly resolve rejections or reductions, process appeals, and follow up on all outstanding electronic billing accounts receivable.

Education & Experience:

Experience in accounts receivable (required) and accounts payable (preferred)
An accounting degree is a plus but not required, experience can substitute for formal education
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
Previous law firm experience (preferred)

Compensation:

Compensation for this position will be commensurate with relevant accounting experience and qualifications.

This is an in-office position, and we are looking for someone who is committed to contributing to the continued success of our firm.
