Recommended Areas of Knowledge and/or Skill
- Understanding of heat input and distortion control
- Ability to problem solve and develop smart build strategies with little outside input
- GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) welding on various materials
- Weld inspection and proper defect repair
Responsibility
- Read and understand customer drawings, weld symbols, and tolerances
- Hold linear dimensions, squareness, and flatness within tolerances
- Produce welds of the correct size and shape with few defects
