For patients living with diabetes, circulatory conditions, chronic wounds, or limited access to specialty care, one thoughtful visit can prevent a much larger medical problem.

We are looking for a podiatrist who wants to be respected for their knowledge, trusted by their patients, and proud of the care they provide.
What You Will Do
As a Podiatrist at Tri-State, you will provide compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered foot and ankle care within your professional training, clinical privileges, and scope of practice.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat conditions affecting the foot, ankle, and related structures
- Perform comprehensive and problem-focused podiatric examinations
- Review medical histories, symptoms, medications, imaging, laboratory results, and clinical findings
- Develop individualized treatment and follow-up plans
- Diagnose and manage common foot and ankle conditions
- Provide diabetic foot examinations and preventive foot care
- Evaluate and treat foot pain, heel pain, plantar fasciitis, bunions, hammertoes, and other structural conditions
- Treat ingrown toenails, fungal nails, calluses, corns, warts, and other skin or nail conditions
- Evaluate wounds, ulcers, infections, and circulation-related concerns
- Provide wound care within your clinical training and approved scope
- Perform appropriate in-office procedures within your clinical privileges
- Order and interpret X-rays, laboratory tests, vascular studies, and other diagnostic services
- Recommend or prescribe medications, orthotics, braces, therapeutic footwear, and other treatments as appropriate
- Identify patients who require surgical, vascular, orthopedic, infectious-disease, or other specialty care
- Coordinate referrals and communicate with outside specialists when needed
- Educate patients and caregivers about diabetic foot care, wound prevention, footwear, hygiene, mobility, and home treatment
- Explain diagnoses and treatment options in clear and easy-to-understand language
- Recognize urgent or potentially limb-threatening conditions and respond appropriately
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely electronic medical records
- Follow infection-control, HIPAA, patient-safety, and professional standards
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, medical assistants, specialists, and administrative staff
- Participate in quality-improvement, population-health, and patient-safety initiatives
- Support Tri-State’s commitment to improving healthcare access and patient outcomes
- Participate in clinical meetings, training, and professional-development activities as required

Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from an accredited school of podiatric medicine
- Successful completion of an accredited podiatric residency program
- Current and unrestricted podiatric medical license in the state of the assigned clinic, or eligibility to obtain the required license before beginning employment
- Current DEA registration, or ability to obtain it before starting when required for the position
- Current Basic Life Support certification, or ability to obtain certification before starting
- Ability to complete Tri-State’s credentialing, privileging, and payer-enrollment requirements
- Strong knowledge of outpatient podiatric medicine, diabetic foot care, wound prevention, and foot and ankle conditions
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and decision-making skills
- Ability to maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical documentation
- Ability to provide respectful and compassionate care to patients from diverse backgrounds
- Commitment to ethical, evidence-based, and patient-centered podiatric care
Preferred Qualifications
- Board-certified or board-eligible in podiatric medicine or surgery
- Previous outpatient podiatry experience
- Previous FQHC, community-health, public-health, or safety-net experience
- Experience providing diabetic foot examinations and preventive care
- Experience evaluating and treating chronic wounds and ulcers
- Experience performing outpatient podiatric procedures
- Experience treating medically complex patients
- Familiarity with Medi-Cal, Medicaid, Medicare, and community-health documentation requirements
- Experience using electronic health-record systems
- Strong patient-education and care-coordination skills
- Bilingual communication skills are helpful but not required

- Board-certification status
- Clinical skills and approved scope of practice
- Assigned clinic location
- Availability and agreed-upon schedule

Work Environment
This is an on-site, outpatient podiatry position within a community healthcare setting.
The Podiatrist will work closely with primary care providers, nurses, medical assistants, administrative staff, specialists, and community resources to provide coordinated and patient-centered care.
The exact clinic schedule, expected patient volume, procedure responsibilities, support-staff structure, and any evening, weekend, travel, or call expectations will be discussed before employment.
