Full Job Description

CNC Machinist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Utilize Engineers program data via storage device installed into the CNC that programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs
Set-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads
Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by mechanical drawings etc.
Prepare a test run to check if the machine produces outputs according to specifications
Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards
Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting controls; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
Adhere to all quality standards and safety procedures, recognizing unsafe situations and taking
Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
Operate a forklift to pick materials for projects to be cut on the CNC
Operate a forklift to load and unload materials and components onto and from trucks

Competencies

Ability to work independently or as a team member
Mechanical Aptitude
