Full Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented HR / Payroll Administrator to support human resources and payroll operations daily for a growing electrical contractor in the DFW area. This role is responsible for payroll processing, employee records, onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance tracking. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and can manage multiple priorities with accuracy and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

Process weekly payroll for field and office employees
Review and verify timecards, job costing, and payroll data
Maintain payroll records, deductions, and tax withholdings
Ensure compliance with certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements
Coordinate onboarding, new hire paperwork, and employee records
Administer benefits enrollment and track employee certifications/licenses
Assist with recruiting coordination and HR support
Manage workers’ compensation claims, OSHA logs, and injury tracking
Support HR reporting, compliance, and general administrative functions

Requirements:

2+ years of payroll and/or HR experience
Construction or skilled trades industry experience preferred
Knowledge of Sage 300, Miter, and Microsoft Office is a plus
Familiarity with certified payroll, prevailing wage, or multi-state payroll preferred
Strong organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
