Full Job Description

Hunting, Dearborn Division is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Fryeburg, ME. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for customer parts, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This role serves as a key liaison between internal teams and external partners, including customers and vendors, to support technical and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce deviations, and ensure product quality.
Act as a technical point of contact for external customers and vendors; manage communication regarding product specifications, engineering changes, and project timelines.
Monitor and troubleshoot manufacturing issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for process optimization.
Collaborate with Sales to support accurate quoting through technical input and cost estimation.
Review customer purchase orders and technical documentation to ensure compliance with internal capabilities, production processes, applicable quality standards and contractual requirements.
Coordinate with Scheduling and Production teams to meet delivery schedules
Work closely with Quality Control to resolve non-conformance issues and develop rework or repair procedures.
Support the organization’s continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practices in manufacturing.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to processes, revisions, and project activities.

Required Skills and Experience:

Experience in a professional office environment
Experience with technical writing and creating professional documents in Microsoft Word.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
Solid understanding of machining and manufacturing processes, cost analysis, and quality control methods.
High technical proficiency and the ability to work on complex projects without direct supervision.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
Communicate in an effective, clear, and organized manner using oral and written form with all levels of the organization as well as with all external partners.
Follow expected guidelines regarding client and organizational communication, data sensitivity, and with appropriate regard to complexity.
Effective communication, both internally and externally, by phone and in a group meeting environment.
Self-directed and resourceful with regard to individual and team problem solving.
Initiate new processes or ideas and channel them appropriately to improve customer service within company guidelines.
