We are looking for a motivated and flexible chaplain to join our team. This position is expected to begin as a part-time role with the intent to transition into a full-time position based on performance and business needs. We welcome candidates interested in both part-time and full-time.
The hospice chaplain is a key member of the hospice interdisciplinary team, providing spiritual and emotional support to our patients and their families during their hospice journey. As a hospice chaplain, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our patients and their loved ones by addressing their spiritual needs, providing guidance, and fostering a sense of comfort and peace. As our chaplain, your expertise in cultivating strong relationships with individuals and families will enhance our ability to provide comprehensive care and support.

Gainesville and surrounding counties
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and caregivers in accordance with their individual beliefs, values, and preferences.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' spiritual needs and preferences, taking into consideration cultural and religious backgrounds.
- Offer counseling, prayer, meditation, and other spiritual interventions to patients and families, promoting emotional well-being and a sense of purpose.
- Assist patients and families in navigating feelings of grief and loss.
- Facilitate support groups, memorial service, and religious ceremonies as needed.
- Work closely with community religious leaders, congregations, and faith-based organizations to ensure comprehensive spiritual care.
Qualifications
- Degree in ministry from a college, university or divinity school; or the completion of a clinical pastoral education program with an emphasis in health care ministry, or formal training.
-Previous experience in providing spiritual care and counseling, preferably in a hospice, healthcare, or palliative care setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.-
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Local travel to nursing facilities and the home setting is necessary. You will be compensated for this travel.
