Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Echocardiographer to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing echocardiograms and assisting in the diagnosis of cardiac conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of cardiac physiology, medical terminology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, particularly within a Level II Trauma Center.

Duties

Perform echocardiograms and other sonographic procedures to assess cardiac function and structure.
Collaborate with physicians to interpret echocardiographic findings and provide accurate reports.
Monitor patient vital signs during procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures to prevent infection.
Document all relevant patient information and maintain accurate medical records.
Assist in cardiac catheterization procedures as needed, providing support to the medical team.
Stay updated on advancements in echocardiography technology and techniques.
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Certification as an Echocardiographer (e.g., RDCS or RCS) is preferred.
Strong knowledge of telemetry, radiology, emergency medicine, and physiology.
Experience working in a Level II Trauma Center is highly desirable.
Proficient understanding of medical terminology related to cardiology.
Familiarity with aseptic techniques and best practices in patient care.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Previous experience in sonography or related fields is an advantage.
