JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Bookkeeper provides clerical, financial, and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the school office. Under the direction of the principal, this position performs bookkeeping, recordkeeping, and office support functions while maintaining accurate financial and student records. The Bookkeeper works closely with students, parents, staff, and district personnel, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and timely completion of assigned duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain a complete and systematic set of records for all financial transactions of the school.
Record and process all school financial transactions in the computerized accounting system.
Enter requisitions for all school-related purchases and processes cash disbursements in accordance with Board policies and procedures.
Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable and prepares monthly financial statements.
Record daily cash receipts and prepares timely bank deposits.
Reconcile monthly bank statements and resolves discrepancies as needed.
Research accounting errors and process necessary adjustments to correct charges or credits posted to incorrect accounts.
Assist with inventory management by maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting periodic inventory counts.
Ensure financial records and supporting documentation are complete, accurate, and maintained in compliance with Board policies, procedures, and applicable record retention requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Associates degree preferred or three (3) years of experience in general secretarial and clerical work..

· Sufficient formal and/or informal training to provide the ability to read and write at a level consistent with the requirements of the position.
