Full Job Description

Lead Machine Operators & Machine Operators

Location: Millbury, MA
Pay: $22–$26/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

We are hiring six dependable Machine Operators and Lead Machine Operators for a growing advanced-materials manufacturer in Millbury. Openings are available on both 1st and 3rd shift.

This is a hands-on manufacturing position operating equipment that feeds fabric through a production line where it is coated with chemicals and resin. The finished material is used in industries such as aerospace, defense, energy and industrial manufacturing.

Available Shifts

1st shift: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
3rd shift: 11:00 PM–7:00 AM
Some Saturday overtime may be required

Responsibilities

Set up, operate and monitor production machinery
Feed fabric through coating equipment
Mix and test chemicals by following established formulas and recipes
Monitor the coating process and inspect materials for quality
Package, label and place finished rolls on skids
Band or stretch-wrap completed products as required
Enter production information using an ERP system and Microsoft Office
Identify and report nonconforming materials
Work with Quality and Engineering to resolve production issues
Troubleshoot basic equipment and product problems
Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area
Follow 5S, safety and production procedures
Prepare the work area and equipment for the following shift
Lead Operators may also help guide employees and support daily production activities

Requirements

2–5 years of machine operating or related manufacturing experience
Experience with coating processes, plastics, chemicals, resins or similar materials
High school diploma or GED
Ability to safely lift up to 60 pounds
Basic computer skills
Comfortable entering production data into an ERP system or Microsoft Office
Comfortable working in a hands-on industrial environment that may be dirty
Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
Ability to work well with others
Willingness to work occasional Saturday overtime
Lead candidates should have prior leadership, training or senior operator experience

Experience with fabric coating, web handling, roll-to-roll manufacturing, laminating, extrusion, plastics, composites, rubber or chemical processing would translate well to this position.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship. A background check and four-panel drug screening, excluding THC, are required.
