Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Brake Press Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining brake press machines to shape and form metal sheets with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will contribute to the production of high-quality metal components, ensuring safety standards are upheld while meeting production deadlines. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about metal fabrication and machining to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Set up and operate various types of press brake machines, ensuring accurate bending and forming of sheet metal according to technical drawings and specifications
Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to determine proper tooling and machine settings
Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and ensure quality control during production
Program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) press brake machines for complex bending operations, optimizing efficiency and precision
Maintain safety standards by adhering to safety protocols, inspecting equipment regularly, and ensuring a clean work environment
Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including tooling changes, calibration, and troubleshooting mechanical issues
Collaborate with team members on assembly processes, fabrication tasks, and quality inspections to meet project specifications

Experience

Proven experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or metal fabrication setting
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
Familiarity with CNC programming, CNC laser cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe operations, plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining (EDM), stamping presses, and forming machines is highly desirable
Skilled in using measuring instruments for precision measurement and quality control purposes
Knowledge of shop math, basic math skills necessary for setup calculations and measurements
Experience with welding, sheet metal fabrication, tooling setup, and assembly processes is a plus
Commitment to safety standards in production environments with a focus on safety protocol adherence and proper machine operation skills
