Kalmar is looking for a strategic and collaborative leader to join our team as the Director, Dealer Development. In this key role, you will take holistic responsibility for developing, managing, and optimizing our third-party dealer network and management practices across your assigned area. You will drive local business growth, closely align dealer strategies with regional and global teams, and secure the highest standards of compliance, performance, and training across our channels.

Compensation Data

Base Salary: $150K - $190K (DOE)
Eligible for Annual Bonus
Eligible for Annual Salary Review & Merit Increase

What are your key responsibilities:

Compliance & Governance: Secure the highest standards of third-party sales in the region in accordance with Kalmar’s Code of Conduct, legal frameworks, and global processes. Lead business justifications, compliance screenings (KROLL), and coordinate contract negotiations, renewals, and terminations in close collaboration with Compliance, Ethics, and Legal.
Network & Route-to-Market Strategy: Proactively develop and optimize the regional dealer network according to our route-to-market strategy to secure maximum market coverage, drive local dealer business development, and enable sustainable business growth.
Dealer Performance Management: Lead the dealer performance management process by setting targets, conducting continuous monitoring against KPI structures, facilitating structured quarterly and annual reviews, and initiating Performance Improvement Programs when necessary.
Training & Knowledge Transfer: Proactively analyze dealer competence levels using skills matrices and collaborate with training teams and divisions to establish annual training plans, ensuring dealers have the right knowledge to represent Kalmar.
Dealer Support & Communication: Drive active, two-way communication within the Dealer Community. Organize regional events, quarterly meetings, and coordinate the annual Dealer Satisfaction Survey while serving as the internal voice of the dealer to support product and business development.

What you bring to the role:

Education: University degree in Business Management, Marketing, or a related field.
Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in dealer development, distributor management, or a closely adjacent commercial position.
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial equipment and services, with specific knowledge of Kalmar cargo handling equipment and services highly preferred.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and oral English communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Proven capability in problem-solving and solution creation, combined with a "can-do" attitude, flexibility, and the ability to maintain local focus within a complex global environment.
