Department Information
Established in 1990, the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts is a pioneer of liberal arts education and research at the nexus of the technical and human sciences. The academic programs are internationally acclaimed as models for liberal arts education in a technological age. Founded with the principles of its namesake, former Atlanta Mayor Ivan Allen Jr., the College of Liberal Arts believes in the power of transformative urban leadership that is rooted in courage, compassion, and human and social justice. Job Summary
The Manager of Grants is responsible for managing a team of grants professionals, providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to enhance the effectiveness of grant management practices. This position emphasizes strategic oversight, collaboration with various stakeholders, and ensuring that grant activities align with the institution's mission and objectives.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Lead a team of grant professionals by providing mentorship, guidance, and performance assessments to cultivate a collaborative and effective work environment.
Job Duty 2 -
Collaborate with departmental leaders to identify funding needs and priorities, facilitating the preparation of grant proposals that align with institutional goals.
Job Duty 3 -
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Duty 4 -
Develop and implement a comprehensive grants strategy that aligns with the institution's financial objectives and ensures effective utilization of funding opportunities.
Job Duty 5 -
Establish and monitor policies and procedures for grant management to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and funding agency guidelines.
Job Duty 6 -
Oversee the review and evaluation of grant applications and reports, ensuring that they meet quality standards and align with funding criteria.
Job Duty 7 -
Facilitate training and professional development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills in grant writing, compliance, and reporting.
Job Duty 8 -
Serve as the primary liaison between the institution and external funding agencies, fostering relationships that support successful grant acquisition and management.
Job Duty 9 -
Analyze grant funding trends and outcomes by reviewing data to inform strategic decisions and improve future grant proposals.
Job Duty 10 -
Prepare and present detailed reports to senior leadership that summarize grant activities, highlight achievements, and outline areas for improvement in grant management processes.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience.
Required Experience
3+ years of relevant experience; 1+ years of supervisory knowledge.

Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
Preferred Certifications
Certified Grants Management Specialist, Certified Research Administrator, or Grant Professional Certified

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
SKILLS
This job requires advanced professional knowledge of financial/accounting principles, practices and management as applied in sponsored research environment. Working knowledge of proposal development and related regulatory requirements is required as is use of office and spreadsheet related computer applications and specialized applications and databases related to grants and contract administration. Also required are skills in planning and supervision, attention to detail , problem solving and communications.
