Job Summary
Capstone Logistics is searching for a Regional Quality Senior Manager to lead quality assurance and compliance efforts for our 3PL operations supporting major CPG clients. This critical leadership role ensures that warehousing, fulfillment, co-packing, kitting, and distribution activities meet or exceed stringent customer quality standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, GMP/cGMP, FSMA), and internal KPIs. The ideal candidate will drive a culture of quality, proactive risk mitigation, continuous improvement, and seamless collaboration with key client stakeholders while supporting multi-site operations in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) across assigned 3PL sites, ensuring alignment with ISO 9001, GMP, HACCP, GFSI (e.g., SQF/BRC), FDA/FSMA, and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Serve as the primary quality liaison with key clients, managing audits, CAPA, root cause analysis, customer complaints, and performance reviews.
- Oversee incoming/outgoing inspections, product traceability/lot control (FEFO), non-conforming material processes, and recall readiness.
- Conduct and support internal, customer, and third-party audits and drive closure of findings.
- Monitor quality KPIs and implement data-driven improvements using Lean/Six Sigma tools.
- Develop and deliver quality training programs and coach site quality personnel.
- Partner with operations, sales, and client teams on new program launches, process validation, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with packaging, labeling, palletization, and handling standards.
- Manage vendor and supplier quality.
- Lead quality event investigations and communications.
- Champion a culture of quality, accountability, safety, and behaviors aligned with Capstone's Core Values.
- Ensure all quality documentation, SOPs, work instructions, and records are documented, controlled, retained, and audit ready.
- Support enterprise risk assessments and mitigation strategies to proactively identify quality, food safety, regulatory, and compliance risks.
- Partner with internal and external Partners to ensure successful customer implementations, startup transitions, and operational readiness.
- Drive standardization of quality processes, best practices, and KPI reporting across all locations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Quality, or related field (Master’s or certifications preferred: ASQ CQM, Six Sigma Black/Green Belt, PCQI, HACCP).
- 7+ years of progressive quality management experience in 3PL, logistics, warehousing, or CPG manufacturing, with at least 3–5 years in a multi-site/regional role.
- Direct experience supporting major CPG clients.
- Strong knowledge of FDA, GMP, FSMA, ISO 9001, GFSI and quality tools including APQP, FMEA, CAPA, RCA, and SPC.
- Proven success leading audits and improving quality metrics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, WMS/TMS, and quality software.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%.
- Experience leading multi-site quality teams across high-volume operations.
- Experience with warehouse automation, WMS-driven quality controls, and continuous improvement technologies.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in co-packing, kitting, or automated fulfillment operations.
- Lean/Six Sigma certification and practical application.
- Previous 3PL or contract logistics background.
- Knowledge of audit programs and supplier quality requirements.
This role reports to the Vice President of Operations and is based in the Atlanta area, with responsibility for multiple sites.
