General Foreman – Precast Concrete Fence Installation
Location: Hollister, CA | Projects throughout Northern California
Pay: $92,500–$124,500 per year, plus performance bonus and vehicle benefit

Most foreman positions make you choose between running the crew and managing the job. This position requires both—and that is exactly the point.
Concrete Fence Installers is growing its Northern California installation division. We need an experienced General Foreman who can take ownership of the entire field operation: the crew, schedule, labor budget, safety, quality, documentation, and final customer walkthrough.
This is a hands-on field leadership position—not a desk-based project management role.
Who We Are
Concrete Fence Installers (CFI) is the installation division of American Precast Concrete, a vertically integrated manufacturer and installer of precast concrete fence and wall systems.
We manufacture our products at our Pomona and Hollister facilities and install them using our own crews. This gives our field teams direct access to production, scheduling, materials, and quality support.
Our Northern California crews operate from our Hollister facility and complete projects throughout the Bay Area, Central Coast, San Joaquin Valley, Sacramento region, and surrounding areas.
This position requires a wider travel radius than a typical local foreman role. Some jobs may be more than two hours from Hollister, and multi-day projects may require overnight stays. Company-approved lodging and per diem will be provided.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first year, you will be expected to consistently deliver projects that:
- Start on schedule with all DigAlert/811 requirements confirmed
- Meet estimated labor-hour and productivity targets
- Maintain safe, organized, and professional jobsites
- Include accurate daily logs, photos, labor hours, and progress updates
- Meet plans, specifications, grade, alignment, and quality standards
- Produce short punch lists and timely customer signoffs
- Identify delays, shortages, and field conditions before they affect the job
What You’ll Own
Field and crew leadership
- Direct daily installation activities from mobilization through final walkthrough
- Lead layout, string-line setup, grade shooting, excavation, post setting, panel installation, alignment, and finishing
- Assign crew responsibilities and maintain daily production goals
- Inspect completed work against plans, specifications, and company quality standards
- Maintain a professional, accountable, and productive crew
Project execution
- Manage field schedules, labor hours, equipment, and material readiness
- Coordinate material staging and deliveries with the Hollister plant and office teams
- Track actual progress against the project estimate and installation plan
- Identify delays or potential labor overruns early and communicate a recovery plan
- Coordinate multiple crews and active projects as operations grow
- Plan around travel time, delivery schedules, site access, and changing project conditions
Safety and compliance
- Confirm active DigAlert/811 tickets and marked utilities before excavation begins
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce company safety procedures
- Maintain clean, organized, and compliant jobsites
- Stop and escalate unsafe work or unverified site conditions
Documentation and communication
- Complete daily reports, progress photos, labor-hour records, and job status updates
- Document changed or differing field conditions before additional work proceeds
- Communicate clearly with project managers, production, customers, inspectors, and general contractors
- Keep the office informed with accurate and timely field information
Customer and crew development
- Represent CFI professionally during job walks and customer interactions
- Address field questions calmly and prevent misunderstandings from becoming disputes
- Train installers and develop high-performing employees into crew leads
- Establish consistent installation and quality standards across crews
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of experience in concrete, fencing, hardscape, masonry, or structural site work
- At least two years of experience leading an installation or construction crew
- Ability to read site plans, details, elevations, and installation specifications
- Experience establishing layout and shooting grade with a laser level or transit
- Demonstrated ability to complete projects on schedule and within labor budgets
- Comfortable using a phone or tablet for daily reports, photos, time tracking, and project updates
- Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and customer communication skills
- Valid California driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
- Ability to report to the Hollister facility based on project schedules
- Willingness to travel throughout Northern California and stay overnight when required
- Ability to pass a background check, subject to applicable law
Preferred Qualifications
- Precast concrete fence, masonry/CMU wall, structural wall, or heavy fencing experience
- Bilingual English and Spanish
- Experience using Procore, Buildertrend, or similar construction-management software
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Forklift, telehandler, skid-steer, or other relevant equipment certifications
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary of $92,500–$124,500, depending on relevant experience and qualifications
- Quarterly performance bonus opportunity annually, based on labor performance, job readiness, quality, safety, and documentation

Physical and Travel Requirements
This is an active field position. Candidates must be able to work outdoors in changing weather conditions, walk active construction sites, use required personal protective equipment, and perform the physical duties associated with field supervision and installation support.
Regular travel throughout Northern California is required. Some projects may require early departures, extended travel, or overnight stays.
