Full Job Description

Overview
Aura Recovery Centers is seeking a Psychiatric Provider (PMHNP, APRN, or Psychiatrist) to oversee the psychiatric and medication management needs of patients during detoxification during Saturdays & Sundays. This is a 1099 Independent Contractor role with a flexible schedule, ideal for providers seeking to make a difference in the lives of individuals in early recovery while maintaining work–life balance.

Aura Recovery Centers is a 10-bed residential detox facility, dedicated to providing safe, compassionate, and effective detoxification for individuals recovering from substance use disorders. Our multidisciplinary team delivers individualized care in a supportive and clinically driven environment.

Duties

Complete initial psychiatric assessments for all new admissions.
Prescribe and manage detox medications, ensuring safe and effective withdrawal management.
Daily Status Note on all patients.
Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to maintain and implement standing orders for detox medication protocols during off-hours.
Provide ongoing psychiatric and medication management for patients detoxing from substances (average stay: 3–14 days).
Document all evaluations, medication changes, and follow-ups in the EMR (KIPU) in a timely and compliant manner.
Communicate with the clinical and medical team to support individualized treatment plans and ensure continuity of care.
Work under the supervision of the facility’s Medical Director, collaborating closely on patient care, diagnoses, and medication management to ensure all treatment decisions align with best clinical practices and facility protocols.

Qualifications

Licensed PMHNP, APRN, or Psychiatrist in the state of Kentucky (required).
Active DEA license and prescriptive authority in Kentucky.
Experience in substance use disorder treatment and detox/withdrawal management strongly preferred.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $60.00 - $90.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
