What You’ll Do
As a Logistics Coordinator, you will help manage daily transportation activities and ensure shipments are successfully executed from pickup through delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage shipments from booking through successful delivery.
- Coordinate transportation needs between customers and carriers.
- Communicate with customers regarding shipment status, updates, and service expectations.
- Track and trace shipments while proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.
- Source reliable carriers and maintain strong carrier relationships.
- Negotiate carrier rates while supporting company goals and profitability.
- Confirm pickup and delivery details with carriers.
- Resolve transportation challenges quickly, professionally, and proactively.
- Maintain accurate shipment information using Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Collaborate with teammates to provide exceptional customer service and operational support.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- 1+ year of experience in freight brokerage, logistics, transportation, dispatch, or a related field preferred.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience coordinating shipments from pickup through delivery.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and carriers.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to take ownership.
- Experience with TMS, load boards, or logistics software is a plus.
Additional Requirements
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- This is an on-site position based in Chester, VA. Remote work is not available.
- Candidates must be able to reliably commute to Chester, VA or relocate before their start date.
