Provide quality instruction and create and maintain an environment which emphasizes
teaching and learning and engages our diverse student population in the free exploration of ideas, interests and issues.
Primary duties of part-time Library faculty members may include:
providing reference and information literacy instruction and general reference service to students, employees, and community members in person and by phone, email, and online chat;
referring students to on and off-campus resources as appropriate;
assisting students with the use of technologies including Library resources, computer software, printing, etc.;
teaching research workshops; and
completing projects related to outreach, collection development, instruction, cataloging, and/or electronic resource management.
Work Schedule
Shifts vary. Weekday availability preferred.
Part-time Non-Instructional Salary Rate
The starting credit part-time rate from salary table 9 is $55.14 per hour non-Lecture. If you have a doctorate, the rate is $57.80 per hour non-Lecture
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must possess the minimum qualifications for the discipline as approved by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors and defined in the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges handbook.
Master’s in library science, library and information science,

The equivalent
A combination of education and other accomplishments that are equivalent to the
above. (If claiming equivalency, attach a separate statement which presents the
basis for this claim and submit supporting evidence, e.g.transcripts, publications,
other products)
Possess a combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent to all of the above. Candidates making an application on the basis of equivalency must submit an Application for Equivalency in addition to all other required material.
Evidence of a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, culture, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff. If the title of your degree as stated on your transcripts
