Position Summary
The Relationship Manager – Pool & Recreational owns and grows Treatment Technology’s commercial pool chemical business, including the customer base acquired through Aqueous Solutions. This is a relationship-driven, individual-contributor role responsible for both retaining existing pool accounts and aggressively growing the book as we scale this side of the business. Pool is a seasonal, service-sensitive market: customers — commercial pool service companies, HOAs and property managers, hotels and resorts, municipal aquatic centers, fitness and recreation facilities, and pool builders and construction companies — need reliable supply and fast response during the demanding summer season, and they remember who delivered. The Relationship Manager wins new accounts, deepens existing ones, manages the seasonal demand curve in partnership with Operations, defends margin in a price-sensitive category, and represents Treatment Technology as the dependable pool chemical partner in Colorado. The role reports directly to the Owner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Growth & New Business
- Grow the commercial pool chemical book — win new accounts and expand the customer base built through the Aqueous Solutions acquisition.
- Target and develop the key pool segments: commercial pool service companies, HOAs and property managers, hotels and resorts, municipal aquatic centers, fitness and recreation facilities, and pool builders and construction companies.
- Expand share of wallet within existing accounts by introducing additional products from the pool and recreational chemical catalog.
- Identify and evaluate new products and/or services for the pool industry that could expand Treatment Technology’s pool and recreational offering.
- Build and work a pipeline of qualified prospects and bring opportunities to close.
- Represent Treatment Technology at industry and trade events relevant to the pool and aquatics market.
Account Retention & Relationship Management
- Retain existing pool accounts by being responsive, reliable, and easy to do business with — especially through peak season.
- Build durable relationships with pool operators, service company owners, and facility managers.
- Proactively check in with accounts on a regular cadence; catch service gaps and competitive threats early.
- Resolve service issues quickly and visibly, coordinating with Customer Service and Operations to make the customer whole.
Seasonal Demand & Operations Coordination
- Anticipate and plan for the seasonal surge in pool chemical demand; forecast customer needs ahead of the season.
- Work closely with Operations and the Warehouse to confirm supply and delivery capacity before making commitments to customers.
- Communicate customer requirements, delivery windows, and special handling needs clearly to the internal team.
Pricing, Quoting & Margin
- Prepare competitive quotes and pricing for pool accounts, balancing win rate against margin in a price-sensitive category.
- Defend and communicate pricing with a value rationale; renew seasonal and annual agreements ahead of time.
- Partner with the Owner on pricing strategy for key and competitive pool accounts.
- Protect margin by selling reliability, service, and supply security — not price alone.
Forecasting, CRM & Reporting
- Maintain accurate, current customer, opportunity, and activity records in the CRM.
- Forecast seasonal demand to support production and inventory planning.
- Track and report on retention, growth, pipeline, and margin against targets.
Safety & Compliance
- Sell and recommend products in line with applicable regulatory, handling, and certification requirements for pool and recreational chemicals.
- Follow safety protocols when handling product samples and visiting customer and Treatment Technology sites.
Qualifications
- A relational, service-first mindset comes first — the ability to connect with customers, deliver excellent day-to-day service, and proactively solve their problems matters more than a traditional sales background. Direct sales experience is not required; proven success in B2B sales and account management (ideally in pool, chemical, industrial, or technical product distribution) is a plus, not a prerequisite.
- Familiarity with commercial pool operations and pool chemistry, or the ability to learn it quickly and discuss it credibly with customers.
- Strong relationship-building and new-business instincts, with the drive to grow a book.
- Commercial discipline — comfortable preparing quotes, defending pricing, and managing margin in a competitive category.
- Ability to manage a seasonal workload, scaling effort and responsiveness through peak demand.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly to customer sites throughout Colorado.
- Comfortable growing the account pipeline to include pool builders and construction companies, and identifying new products or services for the pool industry, as these become growth areas for Treatment Technology — training and support will be provided to build this expertise over time.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel extensively by vehicle for day trips throughout the territory, with occasional overnight travel throughout the year.
- Ability to visit and walk through pool facilities and chemical storage and warehouse areas.
- Comfortable in environments that involve standing, walking, and exposure to a working chemical facility.
Compensation
This is a salaried position, with base pay commensurate with the candidate’s skill and experience. In addition to base salary, the role offers the opportunity to earn commission and/or bonuses tied to sales growth, account retention, and margin performance.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
