INJECTION MOLDING PROCESS TECHNICIAN - Full-Time 1st Shift 6:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday – Thursday (Four 10's):
Donati Industries is looking for a full-time Injection Molding Process Technician to join our team with a company partnering in global markets dedicated to manufacturing the world's best furniture brands, focusing on innovation, quality, and sustainability.
The Injection Molding Process Technician will independently change molds, make color changes, process adjustments, perform maintenance, and other injection molding tasks.
As a Process Technician, You Will:
- Ensures that all safety procedures are followed, protective equipment is used when required, and audits and checklists are completed daily
- Follows safety procedures to perform mold changes and handle molds. Understands lockout procedures, safety checklists, and safety equipment such as hard hats
- Performs mold change functions as a team using an overhead crane, hi-lo, mold cart, and hand tools
- Understand the details of the preventative maintenance needs of each mold
- Uses the quick mold change process and strives to reduce mold change times by reducing actions required to perform changes and documenting best practices
- Understand molding machine and robot functions for mold changes and robot end-of-arm tooling changes. Examples include mold clamp and ejector settings, machine material purge process, and robot programming for tool changes
- Lead in mold preventative maintenance in the molding department. Perform maintenance repairs and preventative maintenance on injection molding machines, molds, auxiliary equipment, and material handling equipment
- Completes grinder changeovers, and blender changeovers, and monitors equipment to ensure material is being fed properly to blenders and machines
- Able to multitask projects, assignments, and daily activities
- Provide backup to the Process Engineer for processing, quality control, and documentation.
- Backup to other functions, such as regrind, rework, breaks, and 5S
- Looks for ways to eliminate waste, improve product quality, improve safety, and improve the work
Injection Molding Process Technician Requirements:
- : High School Diploma or GED.
- : Minimal 2 years’ experience in injection molding technology or related field. Demonstrated Injection molding mold change experience. Some experience with molding processing and robotics. Experience in hydraulics, electrical maintenance repair methods, and problem-solving. Computer skills with typing and e-mail. Fanuc 6-axis Robot and Toyo molding machine experience is a plus. * Hi-Lo certification preferred.
- : The employee is required to stand for long periods, repeatedly bend and reach, and use hands to manipulate tools and parts. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; and frequently crawl under equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision and depth perception.
- : The employee is exposed to dirty greasy environments on an hourly basis. Hearing protection, safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, and hard hats are required.
- The ability to pass a drug and criminal background check.
