Job Description:
We are seeking a versatile and skilled employee to handle projects from concept to completion. In this role, you will design inspiring landscapes, provide accurate cost estimates, and oversee the execution of projects while ensuring client satisfaction. This position offers a competitive hourly wage with additional commission based on project sales, rewarding your ability to close deals and deliver outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Landscape Design: Create innovative and aesthetically pleasing landscape designs tailored to client needs, including hardscaping, planting plans, and outdoor features.
- Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate project estimates, including materials, labor, and timelines, ensuring profitability and transparency for clients.
- Project Management: Oversee all phases of landscape projects, coordinating with clients, contractors, and crews to ensure timely and high-quality completion within budget.
- Client Interaction: Meet with clients to understand their vision, present design concepts, and secure project approvals while building strong relationships.
- Sales & Commission: Drive project sales through excellent design and client communication, earning commission on completed projects.
- Site Analysis: Conduct site visits to assess conditions, take measurements, and ensure designs are feasible and compliant with local regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the team, including horticulturists, contractors, and suppliers, to bring designs to life.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in landscape design, estimation, and project management (is preferred).
- Strong knowledge of plants, hardscaping materials, and landscaping techniques suitable for our West Michigan Climate.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar) and project management tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and team coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and specifications.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits.
- Any certifications, like APLD, ASLA, or PMP, are a plus.
