Full Job Description

Position Purpose

The Procedure Coordinator provides timely and efficient communication between patients, CFG clinical staff, providers, hospitals, and outpatient surgery centers. Our patients can be scheduled at the following locations: Northern Colorado Endoscopy Center (NCEC), Poudre Valley Hospital (PVH), Medical Center of the Rockies (MCR), McKee, Greeley Hospital (GRH), Skyline Endoscopy Center (SEC), and Harmony Surgery Center (HASC).

The position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, a can-do attitude, resiliency, flexibility, the ability to see the big picture, and strong commitment to following through with patient needs.

Essential Job Functions

Facilitate and manage clinical communications between CFG and Surgery Centers.
Place orders for recommended procedures after provider reviews referral; and communicate scheduling needs with procedure scheduling team.
Contact patients scheduled for procedures at PVH, MCR, McKee Hospital, and GRH to complete hospital screening questionnaire.
Coordinate necessary blood thinner holds and communicate the information to both patients and prescribing physicians.
Place orders for required pre-procedure COVID testing.
Answer patients procedure prep questions.
Understand and adhere to all HIPAA regulations to maintain our patients’ privacy.
Requires regular, predictable attendance.
Flexibility is essential for success with CFG and on occasion, our employees may be asked to complete projects and tasks that could be outside of their normal scope of duties.

· Time Management – Must be able to work under pressure and complete multiple projects or tasks according to established timeframes. Enjoy working in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. Demonstrate resourcefulness and creative problem-solving as needed.

· Positive Attitude – Contributes to a welcoming, inclusive, and professional work environment.

· Computer Proficiency – Demonstrated comfort with Windows-based computer systems.

CMA/RMA Job Qualifications and Requirements:

· Must have a current Nationally Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credential and graduated from an accredited school for Medical Assisting.

· Or have a current LPN/LVN license and graduated from an accredited school of nursing.

· Current CPR/BLS

Preferred Qualifications for the CMA/RMA position are:

· At least 2 years of experience in a clinic setting

· An Associate's in Medical Assisting

· Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish

· Previous GI experience

· Prior experience in Epic EMR system

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend or sit for extended periods of time.
Physical demands:
Walking 30%- assisting patients, delivering information to other departments.
Sitting 70%- entering data into the computer system; answering the telephone.
Ability to speak clearly to be understood by employees and patients.
Ability to hear within normal range even with a noisy desk work area.
Acuity near and far. Ability to see within normal parameters, and to distinguish colors.
Works in a well-lit heated/air-conditioned environment.
Work may involve exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
Must be able to drive between facilities.
May have to assist patients which would involve lifting to 50 lbs
