Job Summary:
City of Greeley is seeking an energetic, responsible person to join the Culture, Parks & Recreation Department (CPRD) as a seasonal GIS data technician. In this position, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the department’s GIS, asset management, and field data collection efforts. You will work with CPRD staff to collect, verify, and maintain GIS data that supports the management of department assets in both Asset Essentials and CityWorks.
Assignments will be tailored to provide a variety of opportunities to expand current GIS knowledge and skills while also offering opportunities to understand integration across platforms and gain experience with enterprise GIS and asset management systems.
This position is anticipated to work 20 – 40 hours per week. The term of the position is up to approximately December 31, 2026.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills:
Minimum Requirements:
High school degree or equivalent
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), ESRI products
(ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS pro, Field Maps, etc.)
Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license
OR
Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job,
AND
Preferred:
Experience collecting GPS or field data using GIS applications.
Experience with ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS pro, Field Maps, mobile GIS applications, or enterprise asset management systems is desirable but not required.
Students pursuing coursework or practical experience in GIS, geography, landscape architecture, natural resources, parks and recreation, planning or a closely related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet usage.
Proficiency in ESRI ArcPro and associated applications.
Ability to work independently.

Travel:
Category B-Regular Local/Field Based Travel: This position requires regular travel within the County and nearby cities. Employees frequently travel to field sites, client locations, or other City buildings as part of their job duties. Access to a personal or City fleet vehicle may be required.
Essential Functions:
Collect, verify, and maintain GIS and asset inventory data for department assets using GPS- and GIS-enabled mobile applications to perform field data collection and asset verification.
Other duties may vary based on the applicant's field of study and/or department needs.
Responsibilities include conducting field inventories and collecting location and attribute data (e.g., photos, condition assessments) for a wide range of assets to support GIS mapping, maintenance planning, and enterprise asset management. This includes facility assets (e.g., building and facility systems, equipment, and components) for Asset Essentials, as well as park, athletic complex, natural areas, trails, open spaces, and associated amenity assets for CityWorks.
Performs other duties as assigned.

This position allows flexible work hours, and the employee will work with the supervisor to create a flexible weekly schedule. 20 – 40 hours per week.

While performing the duties of this job, this position is regularly required to sit, talk and listen.
Must be able to stand; walk; and use office equipment needed.
The position may require the ability to lift up to 49lbs.
