About the Position:
We are seeking a Purchasing Associate for our Chambersburg, PA facility. Individuals in this position are responsible for supply chain management including vendor relationships, identifying suppliers, researching goods and services, placing and processing purchase orders, and ensuring the accurate and timely receipt of vendor orders.

Responsibilities:
- Generate purchase orders
- Manage project purchase orders, ensuring the timely delivery of materials
- Assist with material expediting, proactively identifying potential delays, and mitigating the risk of materials not being available at the project's outset.
- Research and reconcile variances between purchase orders and receiving.
- Communicate with multiple internal departments, such as accounting, shipping/receiving, and production.
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimize procurement processes
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with supplies to ensure cost-effective procurement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and requirements
- Manage supplier relationships and performance to ensure quality, delivery, and service level agreements are met
- Monitor inventory levels and work closely with production planning to ensure timely availability of materials
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to plan and track material requirements
- Conduct root cause analysis for any supply chain disruptions or quality issues
- Keep detailed records and prepare and submit necessary reports.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the purchasing processes and implement best practices to streamline operations.
- Follow documented procedures and on-the-job training in order to accurately provide comprehensive quotes to the sales staff and customers.
- Develop a strong working relationship with the manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers that provide parts and material.
- Complete all documentation requirements to ensure accuracy, accountability, and mitigate liabilities.
- Support the sales team with timely and accurate quotes.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Post secondary degree in related area and/or 2 years purchasing/material planning experience preferred.
- Experience with ERP or MRP (e.g. MS Dynamics NAV, Odoo) preferred.
- Highly proficient with Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
