Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Quality Technician plays a key role in supporting the Quality team by monitoring product quality, performing inspections, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives. This position helps ensure manufacturing processes meet company and customer quality standards through testing, data collection, audits, training, and corrective action support.

Essential Responsibilities

Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on materials, components, and finished products.
Verify products meet established specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
Record inspection and test results accurately within company databases and quality documentation.
Identify nonconforming materials and communicate findings to production and quality teams.
Assist with root cause investigations and support corrective and preventive action activities.
Recommend improvements to enhance product quality, process efficiency, and consistency.
Read and interpret work instructions, quality procedures, and technical documentation.
Train and mentor inspectors and production team members on quality standards, inspection methods, and best practices.
Participate in Continuous Improvement and Kaizen activities.
Conduct quality and 5S audits to help maintain workplace organization and compliance.
Ensure inspection equipment is properly maintained and support calibration activities.
Identify and report safety concerns while promoting a safe work environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
At least two (2) years of experience in a Quality Technician role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
Basic understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Experience collecting, documenting, and analyzing quality data.
Proficiency using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, thickness gauges, microscopes, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Strong visual inspection skills with the ability to recognize product defects.
Comfortable working independently while exercising sound judgment.
Experience using ERP systems or other manufacturing databases is preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Additional experience supporting quality systems in a manufacturing environment.
Experience participating in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Kaizen initiatives.

Physical Requirements

Frequently stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
Ability to perform detailed visual inspections requiring close vision, depth perception, color recognition, and focus adjustment.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while following all required safety procedures and PPE requirements.
