Location: Greensboro, NC
Job Type: Full-Time / PRN Available
Department: MRI
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Join Our Team

Diagnostic Radiology & Imaging (DRI) is seeking a patient-focused and safety-conscious MRI Imaging Assistant (I.A.(MR)(ARRT)) to support our MRI department. This role works alongside MRI Technologists to enhance patient care, improve workflow efficiency, and maintain the highest standards of MRI safety.

This position is ideal for individuals who have earned their MRI Imaging Assistant credential or are currently enrolled in an approved MRI Imaging Assistant program and seeking hands-on experience in a fast-paced outpatient imaging environment.

What You'll DoPatient Care & Clinical Support

Obtain and monitor patient vital signs
Verify patient identity and medical history
Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and comfort
Provide patient education and support
Monitor and document patient condition
Support efficient patient flow throughout the department

MRI Safety Responsibilities

Conduct MRI safety screenings for patients and personnel
Monitor and maintain MRI safety zones
Ensure compliance with MRI safety protocols
Assist with emergency response procedures
Support hearing protection and patient safety initiatives

Contrast & Procedure Support

Perform venipuncture
Prepare contrast materials and IV supplies
Assist with contrast administration procedures
Follow aseptic and infection control protocols

Equipment & Quality Control

Inspect coils, cables, and MRI equipment
Perform daily safety and quality control checks
Assist with scanner startup and shutdown procedures
Monitor environmental conditions and equipment performance

QualificationsRequired

High School Diploma or GED
MRI Imaging Assistant Credential (I.A.(MR)(ARRT)) or currently enrolled in an approved MRI Imaging Assistant program
MRI Level 2 Safety Training
Current BLS Certification

Preferred

Previous radiology, MRI, or healthcare experience
Experience with EPIC and PACS systems
Strong understanding of MRI safety principles
Excellent communication and patient care skills

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
