Full Job Description

Job Overview
This position plans and organizes the Nurse Aide I, Medication Aide, and CPR Courses; ensures that goals and objectives for courses are accomplished; coordinates the activities of the program instructors; ensures compliance with the NC Department of Health and Human Services; teaches instructors the Nurse Aide I training standards, as per NCBON; assists with class instruction as needed; and fosters local clinical partnerships for Nurse Aide Course externships.

Duties and Responsibilities

Directly supervises all Nurse Aide I Course Instructors, including class observations and reviews
Performs required audits of student files, as per program requirements
Available for Staff Meetings, Regional Meetings, All Course Orientations and Graduations, as well as NC Office of Proprietary Schools and NC DHHS audits
Respond to emails and phone calls in a timely manner
Assists the Program Director in developing, reviewing, evaluating, and revising curriculums and instructional materials
Ensures the school and staff are kept informed of new or changed rules, regulations, and program policies, as per the NC DHHS Division of Health Service Regulations
Gains and maintains clinical facility partnerships for student clinical externships
Maintains positive relationships with clinical site leadership and staff
Conducts clinical site visits, during externships
Provides training to all new hire instructors
Assists Program Director with scheduling courses, as per program requirements, and ensures class instructors have committed to the entire course
Provides support and preparation assistance with all orientations and graduations
Partners with Credentia for CNA Exam approvals and verifications
Maintains inventory, and ensures required equipment is in working order
Performs additional tasks as requested by the Program Director

Minimum Qualifications

The applicant must be a Registered Nurse with an unencumbered NC License
The applicant must have at least 2 years (4000 hours) of experience as a Registered Nurse in the United States
The applicant must have at least 1 year (2000 hours) of experience, as a Registered Nurse, in a licensed long-term care or skilled nursing facility

Preferred Additional Qualifications

Teaching or precepting experience of LPNs, RNs, and Nurse Aides (CNAs)
Management or Supervision Experience

Skills and Abilities

Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and effective oral and written communication/public relations skills
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Ability to think creatively and suggest process improvements to the Program Director
Intermediate to advanced computer skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work with diverse populations

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
