Hood Container Corporation (HCC) is seeking a dynamic leader to join our team as a Production Supervisor on 3rd or 2nd Shift in our 3520 Dillon Rd, Jamestown, NC 27282 facility.

Are you an experienced Lead Flexo-Folder Gluer (FFG) Operator, Crew Leader, or Setup Operator ready to step away from the touchscreen and into a formal leadership role? We are seeking a Production Supervisor who brings real, hands-on experience running high-speed corrugated machinery. We know that the best leaders in this industry are the ones who have spent time in the pits, understand anilox rolls, and know exactly how to troubleshoot a slotting jam or registration issue. In this role, you will transition from running the machine to leading the team, optimizing plant throughput, and mentoring the next generation of operators. What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)

Lead & Mentor: Oversee daily activities of the production crew across the corrugator, finishing, and shipping departments.
Optimize Machine Runtime: Ensure high-speed FFG lines (e.g., Bobst, Sun, Ward, EVOL, Martin) hit targeted sheets-per-minute metrics.
Reduce Setup Downtime: Coach crews on efficient "set while run" techniques and fast order changeovers to minimize waste.
Troubleshoot Technical Issues: Act as the ultimate technical resource when crews face complex gluing, folding, or printing defects.
Enforce Safety & Quality: Maintain strict compliance with safety protocols and ensure all finished boxes meet customer specifications.

What We Are Looking For (Qualifications)

Hands-on FFG Experience: Minimum 3–5+ years of experience operating, setting up, or leading crews on high-speed Flexo-Folder Gluers (experience in adjacent packaging or converting industries considered).
Leadership Drive: Proven track record as a 1st Operator, Crew Captain, Production Lead, or Supervisor.
Mechanical & Technical Savvy: Strong understanding of flexographic printing plates, ink management, slotting/creasing, and glue extrusion systems.
Problem Solving: Ability to read production schedules, manage crew rotations, and handle high-pressure plant environments.
Location: Must live within commuting distance of the Greensboro/Piedmont Triad area.

Responsibilities:

Lead safety, quality, productivity, and improvement initiatives on the designated shift
Plan, assign and direct work for all hourly production employees; appraise performance and provide feedback as needed; assist in resolving complaints; hold employees accountable as needed; communicate issues and results daily.
Ensure adherence of employees to plant safety rules and that health and safety regulations are obeyed on shift
Capable of making changes to line setup to increase efficiencies
Management of Line Coordinators and Leads regarding safety, quality findings, and daily production needs.
Managing and entry of daily labor and production results.
Resolve problems that would adversely affect the performance of the Line Coordinators/Leads and the continuity of the team concept.
Ensure the safe use and operation of equipment and the training/documentation of qualified employees
Review production and quality paperwork for accuracy and compliance as well as inventory and quality processes and checks.
Understand and coach on build/assembly specs.
Root cause analysis for quality, safety, or productivity failures
Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager, including performing the functions and tasks of a line lead/line coordinator when necessary.
