TECHNICAL SKILLS
Must Have:
3+ years experience with Okuma and Haas controls
- 5 years of experience with graphical based CAM System CNC Programming. Siemens NX CAM experience preferred and will be given priority.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is to support the Combustion product line
Generate and maintain CNC programs utilizing NX-CAM or other software. This could include multi-axis milling, grinding and/or EDM.
Experience with Okuma MU10000 (or similar) a plus
Verify new CNC programs prior to release on the shop floor utilizing Vericut.
Incorporate on-machine probing using Renishaw cycles for part and process validation (including error trapping)
Create programs following standards and qualified machining parameters
Provide CNC related support to M.E. (Manufacturing Engineer) and provide operator training during new / rebuilt machine startup and / or process improvements.
Provide daily operator support in the form of CNC programming and troubleshooting support to the shop floor.
Support and implement tooling & fixturing requirements associated with CNC machine tools.
Generate and support workstation instructions (methods) for CNC related issues.
Initiate and lead process improvement projects to improve safety, quality, cost and delivery.
Provide effective communication to appropriate team members when needed.
Work effectively as an individual and in a team-based environment in a matrixed organization.

Experience creating 5-axis CNC programs using a CAM (preferably NX) system.

Significant "hands-on" background as a machinist, with the ability to personally setup and prove out complex first-piece programs.
A track record of managing tight tolerances on large-format equipment where part deflection, work hardening, and thermal stability are critical factors
Extensive experience machining nickel-based superalloys (Inconel, Rene, Hastelloy, etc.) common in Heavy Duty Gas Turbine (HDGT) or Aerospace industry
Strong problem solving and organization skills, with above average shop math skills in geometry and trigonometry.

This position is for 2nd shift cnc programming and shop support / development
Program, process development, and shop support for one or more of the following:
Large VTL up to 2.5m
Large VBM up to 2.5m
Large head-head Gantry 5-axis
Large vertical multi-purpose turn/grind

Job Description Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programming Contractor to support complex manufacturing operations by developing, optimizing, and verifying CNC programs for machine controls including Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma, using CAD/CAM platforms such as Mastercam, Siemens NX, and Esprit 2000, along with verification software including Vericut. The ideal candidate will have strong experience programming and troubleshooting advanced macro-based routines, including Fanuc Macro B, Okuma Macros, Renishaw probing macros, and Siemens macros, with the ability to improve machining efficiency, accuracy, and process reliability. Candidates must have hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and practical machining expertise with exotic materials and large-scale components weighing up to 50,000 lbs. This contractor will also be responsible for developing operator standard work, inspection and quality documentation, and establishing standard tooling consumption rates and minimum inventory requirements to support consistent, production-ready operations. Strong collaboration skills, process discipline, and the ability to work independently in a high-precision, heavy-manufacturing setting are essential.
