Full Job Description

Merritts GIS, Ltd. and TC Merritts Land Surveyors, P.C., located in Westchester County, New York, are recognized as industry leaders in professional GIS consulting and land surveying services.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented GIS Field Technician to perform field location of geospatial features and support land surveying and mapping projects.

Responsibilities

Perform daily field data collection using GPS and total station equipment to locate and measure structures, utilities, and other geospatial features.
Maintain GIS mapping databases by collecting and managing surface feature data using GPS devices and Windows-based data collectors.
Conduct field investigations to resolve conflicting mapping, connectivity, land, and spatial data issues.
Import, upload, download, and manage field data between GPS devices and office systems.
Ensure the accuracy, organization, and integrity of collected geospatial data.
Collaborate effectively with surveyors, GIS professionals, and project team members.

Qualifications

Experience using GPS equipment and field data collection devices.
Working knowledge of GIS software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively in a team environment.
