We are seeking an energetic, experienced individual to join our company as a delivery driver-warehouse assistant. The position is being labeled as such because, though the position’s primary responsibility will be making deliveries to customers, the driver will also take on an active role in working with the warehouse team to ensure that the order fulfillment process is functioning efficiently and successfully at all times. As part of both the warehouse and delivery teams, the driver will use hand trucks and occasionally forklifts to load and unload delivery vehicles, in addition to driving company vehicles to delivery locations. The driver will accurately keep records of all inventory and have knowledge of effective warehouse inventory management practices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and be reliable and punctual, as the position of delivery driver is a time-critical role that requires effective time management skills and due diligence.
The delivery driver-warehouse assistant will be expected to make and maintain thorough, accurate records of both received and delivered items. The driver will eagerly and at all times follow workplace safety rules and guidelines when loading, transporting, and unloading cargo. This is a physically demanding job position, meaning that our ideal candidate will be able to lift and move some heavy products by hand with, and sometimes without, assistance. In addition to possessing a valid driver's license, at least 2* full years* of experience in delivery driving will be required.
Our company’s ideal delivery driver-warehouse assistant will be one who understands that not only do drivers need to be expert operators of their vehicles, but that they also need to act as highly professional, customer service representatives as well. The driver’s primary duty will be completing pick-ups from the company warehouses and then delivering them to multiple locations; however, when not making deliveries, they will be expected to assist in the warehouse with forklift operation and picking and packing duties as required.
