Job Summary
Lazy Ponds Bar & Grill in Waterloo, SC is hiring a dependable, fast‑paced Cook to join our small but busy kitchen team. We’re an upscale‑casual bar & grill with a general store and RV park, serving high‑quality food in a friendly, home‑style environment. Our cooks handle prep, cooking, cleaning, and their own dishes, and work closely together to keep service running smoothly.

Position Overview

The Cook is responsible for preparing menu items according to our recipes and standards, maintaining a clean and organized station, and working efficiently during busy rushes. This role requires strong attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to stay calm and focused when tickets stack up.

Responsibilities

Prepare menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
Set up and maintain your station with all required ingredients, tools, and equipment.
Complete daily prep work including chopping, portioning, labeling, and stocking.
Cook food accurately during service while maintaining proper temperatures and ticket times.
Clean and sanitize your station, tools, dishes, and shared kitchen areas throughout the shift.
Follow food safety rules including FIFO rotation, temperature checks, and proper storage.
Communicate with the team to coordinate timing and ensure smooth service.Assist with opening/closing duties as assigned.Monitor stock levels and report shortages or low inventory.

Experience and Requirements

Previous kitchen or line cook experience preferred, but willing to train the right person!
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with strong multitasking skills.
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for long periods, and handle a physically demanding shift.
Positive attitude, teamwork mindset, and willingness to learn our way of doing things.

Schedule & Work Environment

Mornings, Nights, weekends, and some holidays required.
Small, tight‑knit kitchen team where everyone helps each other.
Busy rush periods—must be comfortable working quickly and efficiently.
