The scaffold carpenter builds, alters, inspects, and dismantles pin lock metal scaffolding structures. Key Responsibilities
- Examines, selects and gathers materials and tools, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
- Sets and braces anchor bolts.
- May rig materials.
- Performs minor maintenance or cleaning activities on tolls and equipment.
- Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.

- Measures boards, timbers, or plywood, using square, measuring tape, and ruler, and marks cutting lines on materials using pencil and scriber.
- Saws boards and plywood panels to required sizes.
- Uses carpentry hand tools such as hammers, levels, squares, screw drivers, adjustable wrenches, hand and power saws, drill motors and pry bars.
- Assembles scaffold containing handrails, mid rails, braces and planks, toe boards, screening, locking pins and wheels to job specifications.
- Braces forms in place with timbers, tie rods, and anchor bolts for use in building concrete piers, footings, and walls.
- Secures scaffolding to permanent structure by tying.
- Erects scaffolding for buildings and other structures and installs ladders, handrails,
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety guidelines, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, respirators, and hearing protection. Ensure work is performed according to OSHA and other relevant safety standards.
- Inventory: Manage scaffolding materials inventory and organization
- Tracking: Tracking scaffolding installation production completion through tracking software systems.
- Work with Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, or technical drawings to understand insulation requirements for specific industrial applications.
- Collaboration: Work with other tradespeople such as pipefitters, electricians, scaffold builders, painter/blasters, laborers, and maintenance teams to ensure the proper installation of insulation materials in complex systems.
Experience Requirements
- At least 3-7 years of hands-on experience in industrial scaffolding.
- 3+ years of carpentry & scaffold-building experience in industrial or commercial settings.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work at heights with no fear.
- Erection and Dismantling: Build, modify, move, and tear down support structures, platforms, handrails, toe boards, and ladders according to project specifications.
- Blueprint Reading: Review design plans, blueprints, and instructions to figure out work needs and material placement.
- Safety and Inspection: Check scaffold systems daily for defects, stability, and compliance with OSHA and local safety codes.
- Tool Operation: Use power tools, hand tools, and rigging equipment safely and efficiently.

Qualifications Required for this Position:
Education – no minimum education requirements.
Experience – 4 years of experience in scaffolding is preferred.
Local Requirements: This is a maintenance long term job and no per diem will be paid out. Site Project Manager is looking for New Orleans/Waggaman LA locals only.

- Computer: - Strong PC skills with particular emphasis on Microsoft Office (MSWord, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Born360). Ability to quickly learn additional software programs as required by job responsibilities.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee could be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to high, precarious locations such as towers (up to 300ft.). They may be required to work in extreme cold and extreme heat and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. Their work may involve risks to hazards such as: working around moving mechanical parts; risk of electrical shock; explosives and vibration. The noise level in the work environment may exceed 85dB and will require the use of hearing protection.

Certifications & Licenses:

- Basic Plus Orientation Required
- Current driver’s license from state of residence
- Certifications: OSHA 30 or scaffold competent person certification preferred
Other Qualifications:
- Good driving record to drive company vehicle and access client facilities.
- Safety-oriented attitude with a true commitment to personal safety, as well as the safety of others is a must.
- Prior experience conducting safety training and/or presentations.
- Knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety compliance regulations and basic safety concepts.
- Proven ability to implement and maintain behavioral-based safety techniques, ensuring onsite safety performance.
- Work Ethic: Strong focus on safety rules, teamwork, and clear communication with crew members
