JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, loading, unloading, and handling products and materials. Performs general labor duties to maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and facility operations while providing dependable support to customers, coworkers, and other cooperative departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including, but not limited to the following:
· Support the General Manager in promoting the Cooperative and maintaining a positive image within the community.
· Assist customers with loading purchases and provide friendly, knowledgeable service regarding products and services.
· Operate forklifts, skid loaders, tractors, and other equipment as trained and authorized.
· Load and unload trucks, fertilizer spreaders, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
· Receive, unload, stock, organize, and maintain inventory and warehouse materials.
· Accurately enter inventory transactions and point-of-sale transactions into the computer system.
· Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and maintaining accurate product records.
· Operate as a backup to the sales counter and assist with customer transactions as needed.
· Deliver and pick up supplies, products, and equipment as required.
· Fill, inspect, and maintain propane tanks and bottles in accordance with training and safety requirements.
· Perform applicator and spreader duties as trained and required.
· Maintain vehicles, equipment, buildings, grounds, and work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
· Conduct daily facility inspections and clean fuel pump areas, trash bins, warehouse areas, and other assigned areas.
· Maintain grounds through mowing, edging, power washing, and other general cleanup activities.
· Maintain facilities in accordance with Cooperative standards, OSHA requirements, insurance guidelines, and safety procedures.
· Properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures.
· Inspect equipment and promptly report breakdowns, safety concerns, or needed repairs to management.
· Assist with stocking, merchandising, advertising, and promoting Cooperative products and services.
· Maintain knowledge of products and services offered and assist customers with product selection and demonstrations.
· Promote teamwork, communication, and cooperation among employees and departments.
· Maintain regular and sustained attendance and punctuality.
· Perform other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION-EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Willing to seek out and attend additional continuing education, seminars, classes, or other job-related education requirements or opportunities.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
· A current and valid driver’s license is required.
· Basic computer skills required.
· Commercial Driver’s License (Class A; Hazmat, Air Brakes) preferred.
· Applicator’s certification and licensing beneficial.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Able to deal with problems with several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards, take appropriate precautions, and choose appropriate PPE as dictated by need, regulation, and labeling.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic computer skills required. Ability to learn, understand, and use inventory and point of sale software systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk for extended periods; use hands and fingers to grasp, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms, including above shoulder level; and talk and hear. The employee may occasionally be required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance. The employee must frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects weighing more than 100 pounds. The employee may be required to climb ladders and stairs, potentially ranging from 18 feet to 20 feet, depending on job duties and location.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may also be required to distinguish odors or use the senses of taste and smell as necessary to perform job duties.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employees must understand and implement all relevant safety policies, procedures, and programs to prevent and protect themselves while performing job duties across various work environments. NOTE: Specifically, this job entails working in and around warehouses and storage facilities, as well as propane tanks, and occasionally climbing ladders. The environment is frequently dusty, with extreme weather ranging from high heat to cold and wet conditions. It includes functions associated with the operation of propane stations and warehouse maintenance.
