Position Summary
We are seeking a Value Engineer II to support product quoting, cost analysis, and mechanical design review for standard and custom-engineered products.
This position serves as a technical link between Sales, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Supply Chain. The Value Engineer II will review customer requirements, engineering drawings, CAD models, bills of materials, and manufacturing processes to develop accurate quotations and recommend cost-effective product solutions.
This is primarily a desk-based engineering position involving technical analysis, quotation development, documentation, and frequent communication with internal teams and suppliers. This role is best suited for an engineer who enjoys evaluating designs, analyzing costs, working with data, and coordinating projects rather than spending most of the day performing hands-on production-floor work.
The position reports to the Design Engineering Supervisor.

- Support custom-engineered products and pre-production engineering activities.
- Provide technical guidance to Sales, Operations, and customer-facing teams regarding product configurations and capabilities.
- Assist with prototype evaluations, product testing, engineering changes, and new-product implementation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Product Management.
- Translate customer requirements into practical, cost-effective technical solutions.
- Participate in project reviews, quotation discussions, and design-review meetings.

- Leverage Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, Power Automate, and related tools to streamline quoting and engineering processes.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual effort.
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline required.
- An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
Experience
- Three to five years of experience in mechanical product design, manufacturing engineering, cost estimating, quotation development, applications engineering, value engineering, or a related technical role.
- Experience supporting engineered or manufactured products strongly preferred.
- Experience developing quotations or estimating product and manufacturing costs preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering drawings.
- Ability to interpret CAD models, schematics, product specifications, and bills of materials.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, production methods, labor requirements, and supplier costs.
- Experience with cost estimating, pricing methodologies, and value-engineering principles.
- Ability to evaluate designs for manufacturability and recommend cost-effective improvements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance engineering requirements with cost, lead-time, and commercial objectives.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
