Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Hamlet Housing Authority is seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-focused Office Assistant to provide administrative support and exceptional customer service to residents, applicants, vendors, and the public. This position plays a vital role in the daily operations of the Housing Authority by assisting with office administration, recordkeeping, and front desk responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Greet residents, applicants, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
Answer and direct incoming telephone calls.
Receive, process, and distribute incoming mail and correspondence.
Maintain tenant and applicant files in accordance with Housing Authority policies.
Assist with data entry, filing, copying, scanning, and document preparation.
Prepare reports, letters, notices, and other administrative documents.
Accept rent payments and issue receipts as assigned.
Assist with public housing and housing program administrative tasks.
Maintain confidentiality of tenant and agency information.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Associate degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year of administrative or office experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide excellent customer service.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
