Nanny By Design is assisting a wonderful family relocating to Wilmington in their search for a full-time nanny to care for their two children, ages 3 years and 9 months.
Their 3-year-old is creative, energetic, and loves drawing, painting, coloring, playdough, stickers, playing outside, dress-up, dance parties, and reading. She is currently working on potty training and, like many 3-year-olds, has her occasional "threenager" moments. Their 9-month-old is crawling, exploring everything, and beginning to show his unique personality.
The family is looking for a patient, engaging, and dependable nanny who enjoys being active, spending time outdoors, planning fun activities, and nurturing children's development. The ideal candidate will be comfortable caring for children with different developmental needs, maintain consistent boundaries, limit screen time, and enjoy being around dogs.
The family values open communication, consistency, and talking through situations with their children. While they are not overly schedule-driven, they appreciate a nanny who can provide structure while creating a warm, supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive care for two young children
- Plan educational and age-appropriate activities
- Assist with potty training
- Prepare meals and snacks for the children
- Children's laundry
- Load and unload the dishwasher
- Let the family dog in and out as needed
- General tidying related to the children and daily activities
- Encourage learning, creativity, and outdoor play while limiting screen time
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum of 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Ability to provide 3 childcare-related references
- Adult & Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain before the start date)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check
- TDAP vaccination required
- Minimum one-year commitment preferred
