About the Role

We are seeking a highly capable Production Support Specialist to ensure seamless production execution of intricate mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electrical subassemblies. In this role, you'll serve as a crucial technical bridge, fostering clear communication between suppliers, customers, and internal engineering, operations, and quality teams. Your expertise will directly contribute to the efficient and high-quality production of critical components.

Responsibilities

Spearhead the transfer of essential production knowledge to new suppliers, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
Conduct on-site assessments of supplier facilities, evaluating manufacturing plans, tooling, process flows, and inventory management strategies to optimize production efficiency.
Prepare comprehensive Technical Data Packages (TDPs) for release, navigating the program’s Configuration Control Board with precision.
Analyze customer Engineering Change Notices, assessing their impact on cost and execution, and seamlessly integrate changes into existing TDPs.
Communicate potential technical risks arising from supplier Change Requests and Nonconformance Reports, collaborating with internal and external Quality teams to mitigate issues.
Support quality assurance by reviewing AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports, ensuring adherence to stringent quality standards.
Develop and deliver technical presentations to communicate production status and justify requests for technical changes to stakeholders.
Contribute to the development of standard engineering processes and their effective implementation within business systems.

Qualifications

Required Skills

B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, preferably within the aerospace/defense sector.
Solid understanding of manufacturing and producibility principles.
Proficiency in creating and delivering impactful presentations to diverse audiences.
Strong grasp of configuration management methodologies.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Demonstrated advanced problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Skills

8+ years of engineering experience in the aerospace/defense industry.
Experience collaborating with international partners on aerospace and defense projects.
Knowledge of CCA manufacturing techniques and electrical systems testing.
Broad understanding of producibility across machining, mechanical assembly, electro-mechanical assembly, and mix/cast energetics.
Ability to interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
Experience in manufacturing and assembling on a "build to print" basis.
Familiarity with manufacturing engineering concepts such as manufacturing planning and lean manufacturing.
Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
