Dance Studio Content CreatorJob Overview
Stage Door School of Dance is looking for a creative, team-oriented, and dance-savvy Content Creator to join our marketing team!
This is a hybrid, part-time paid position for someone who understands both the world of dance and the world of social media. This role is focused on collecting, curating, creating, editing, and managing content that showcases our dancers, teachers, programs, events, and studio community.
While the Content Creator will occasionally capture original photo and video content in the studio, the majority of the role will involve collecting content from our teachers, staff, and media team and turning that content into engaging social media posts.
The ideal candidate is someone who understands dance and can recognize what makes a moment, accomplishment, class, or event worth sharing. They should be creative enough to take existing content and transform it into engaging Reels, TikToks, posts, Stories, and other marketing materials.
You will work closely with the Director of Marketing and the studio's Media Team to help maintain a consistent, engaging, and authentic online presence for Stage Door School of Dance.
Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Curation
- Collect, organize, and curate photos and videos submitted by teachers, staff, photographers, and members of the Media Team.
- Review large amounts of photo and video content and identify the strongest, most engaging moments for social media.
- Transform existing studio content into engaging Instagram Reels, TikToks, Stories, Facebook posts, and YouTube Shorts.
- Occasionally capture original photo and video content during classes, events, performances, camps, clinics, and other studio activities.
- Develop creative content ideas that showcase dancers, teachers, classes, programs, accomplishments, and studio culture.
- Create content around seasonal campaigns, enrollment initiatives, special events, guest artists, camps, and other studio promotions.
- Repurpose existing content creatively across multiple platforms.
Social Media
- Help manage and maintain the studio's social media content calendar.
- Schedule and publish content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Stay up to date on social media trends, viral sounds, formats, and best practices.
- Identify opportunities to incorporate relevant trends into the Stage Door brand.
- Write engaging captions, hooks, and calls-to-action that connect with current and prospective families.
- Ensure all published content is accurate, polished, on-brand, and appropriate for our audience.
- Monitor social media analytics and use performance insights to help guide future content.
- Assist with social media Stories and timely content surrounding studio events and activities.
Collaboration & Organization
- Communicate with teachers and staff to request and collect content on a consistent basis.
- Help establish and maintain systems for submitting, organizing, and accessing studio media.
- Work closely with the Director of Marketing to execute the studio's overall content strategy.
- Collaborate with the Media Team to ensure content is being captured and utilized effectively.
- Maintain organized digital files and content libraries.
- Meet content deadlines and communicate proactively when additional information or materials are needed.
Qualifications Required
- Strong knowledge and understanding of dance. Applicants must have a background in dance, dance education, performance, choreography, or another meaningful connection to the dance world.
- Previous experience creating social media content.
- Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Experience creating and editing short-form video content.
- Proficiency with platforms such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe, or similar editing tools.
- Strong understanding of current social media trends and content styles.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple content projects and deadlines.
- Comfortable communicating with teachers, staff, and members of a creative team.
- Ability to work independently while also taking direction and collaborating with others.
- Reliable, proactive, and able to follow through on assignments.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who gets dance AND gets social media.
You don't necessarily need to be the person behind the camera all day. Instead, you should be the person who can look through a folder of hundreds of photos and videos and immediately recognize:
"That's the one."
You understand what makes a dancer look their best, what accomplishments families want to see celebrated, what moments tell a story, and what will catch someone's attention while scrolling.
You are creative enough to take a simple piece of content and turn it into something engaging. You're organized enough to keep a steady flow of content moving. And you're plugged into social media enough to know what is trending and how to make it work for a dance studio.
